Street Art Video Night at Irvine Contemporary:
Greatest Hits of Street Art Documentary Films
Thursday, May 21, 7PM - 10PM
Join us for a screening of our own in-house remix of selections from the greatest hits of street art films. Starts at 7PM, May 21, in the main gallery.
Our spring celebration includes popcorn, beer, and an advance preview of our forthcoming exhibition, Street/Studio, opening June 20.
We'll also provide information about the benefit event with the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Silver Spring for the exclusive DC-area screening of Beautiful Losers at the AFI Silver Theater on June 11.

Street/Studio will feature works by artists who use the street and urban space as extensions of their studios, and who bring the street and urban sites into their studio practice. Opening reception with the artists: Saturday June 20, 6:30PM.
Artists include Shepard Fairey (LA), Swoon (NY), Gaia (Brooklyn), Imminent Disaster (Brooklyn), Oliver Vernon (Brooklyn), James Marshall (Dalek) (NY and Raleigh, NC), EVOL (Berlin, Germany), and PISA73 (Berlin, Germany). Further information. |
Conceived as a continuous installation of interior and exterior works, Street/Studio will include both the gallery interior space and the exterior walls and alleys behind Irvine Contemporary. This continuous installation will create a unified view of works created as works for a gallery art space as well as exterior public street murals that work with the location of the neighborhood and the urban environment of Washington, DC.
